June 2009 Technical Briefing

The Open Mobile Alliance held it first semi-annual Technical Briefing on Tuesday 23 June in Boston.

The event coincided with the June Technical Plenary and offered a unique opportunity to learn about the technical work of the OMA as well as look at our future plans to support the ever-widening mobile industry. Currently, the OMA Technical Work Program has over 100 work items in development
.

Highlights from the Technical Briefing included general information about the OMA, with more detailed insight into 10 recently released Enablers and 10 Enablers currently in the OMA pipeline, including Diagnostics and Security for Device Management, Dynamic Content Delivery and Push over SIP Core, Converged Address Book and Converged IP Messaging.

The Technical Briefing also featured real world product demonstrations from Innopath and Qualcomm, using OMA Mobile Service Enablers operating on a live service provider network in the Boston area.
